  • If I saw Dave at his previous office, can he refill my prescriptions for medications, CPAP supplies and oxygen without being seen?
You will need to make an appointment to reestablish with Dave at his new office before he can refill any of your prescriptions. Since it is a new business, you are not legally his patient until you do this, and he will need to make a chart for you in our new computer system.
  • Do I need a referral to be seen at your office?
It is optimal to have a referral so we know your medical history in order to give you the best care. If you are a self-referral, please sign the attached medical release form so we can request your medical records from the providers who have managed your lung and sleep health up to this point. It is especially helpful to have results of heart, lung and sleep studies you may have had, as well as basic records of your medical history.
  • What does it mean to be a physician assistant-owned and operated medical practice?
Our dedicated team of physician assistants, under the guidance of medical protocols and professional standards, provides comprehensive and compassionate care. Our supervising physician is Dr. Steve Sainsbury, and while he will not be treating patients in our office, he is always available to our physician assistants by phone and email to answer questions that arise. In certain cases, medical conditions may become complex and require expertise beyond the scope of our physician assistant practice. At that point we will to refer you to another specialist.
